On Monday October 8, 2007 at around 6:30pm the Woonsocket Fire Department responded to 40 Highland St. for a reported fire in a home. E-3 was the first due engine and encountered a 2 1/2 story wood-framed with a stove fire extending into the wall. E-3 stretched in and quickly knocked down the flames. Companies opened up and the small fire was confined to area of origin. Deputy Chief Tom Williams was in command; Chief of the Department Ken Finlay was also present. The fire was being investigated by Captain Tom Papa.
