The second fire in as many weeks, Woonsocket firefighters battled this morning blaze at 118 Carrington Ave. on Tuesday July 3, 2007. A code red was transmitted and Engine 3 initiated an attack. Companies had fire showing out of the 2nd floor window on arrival. One occupant was transported to the hospital with burns of unknown severity. All Woonsocket companies made the fire. The Cumberland Air Supply unit also responded to the scene to assist Woonsocket. Cumberland, Bellingham, Blackstone, and Lincoln companies filled the empty city stations. The cause of the blaze is being investigated by the Woonsocket Fire and Police Departments and the State Fire Marshal’s office.
